We will have our Seder (Passover) Meal on Wednesday, March 27th @ 5:15pm. This will be the whole program for that night and will last about an hour and a half. Nursery will be provided. This is a free meal but requires that each person register in advance, no later than 3/18. Also, we will be serving according to personal preference for food so please be sure to make meal selections for each person who will be attending. If you are unsure if you will be able to attend, make note that it would be easier to cancel your order than to create one at the last minute.

The Seder Meal: A Seder Meal is the Passover Meal of Exodus 12-13. The word "seder" comes from the Hebrew word meaning "order, arrangement" because the food items symbolize the slavery and salvation from Egypt, and the meal progresses through a series of questions, responses, readings, prayers and songs to explain it. Remember, the whole point of the Passover meal was to cat-echize the next generation about God’s wonderful redemption of his people. Exodus 12.25-27 says: "And when you come to the land that the Lord will give you, as he has promised, you shall keep this service. And when your children say to you, ’What do you mean by this service?’ you shall say, ’It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover, for he passed over the houses of the people of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians but spared our houses."" As you know, the exodus points to Jesus’ greater exodus at the cross. And, it was within a Passover Meal that Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper in HIS blood. So, we’ll go through the Meal meditating on how Jesus fulfilled it all. And, we’ll celebrate the Lord’s Supper within this original context at its conclusion. [We’ll consider our Wednesday to be Maundy Thursday.] And, we’ll do all this with special attention to the children experiencing the liturgy, so that the cross comes alive even more for them.
